Finally! After 5 years, Mimay is now graduating. I can still remember the reason why she transferred to Bacolod with me in 2007. This trip is not like he other trips that we had in Bacolod. This one is kinda relaxed and focused on the graduation instead.

what we had @ Bob’s Courtyard…

Our flight to Bacolod was delayed. Instead of arriving at 8pm, we arrived at around 10:30pm. From Bacolod – Silay Airport, we directly went to Courtyard where Mimay and her friends are waiting for us. Just in time for an event for Bogsbrew, we had dinner while he band was playing and of course we got ourselves a couple of bottles of beer.

Malling and foodtrip

The following day, we took Jeeko for a city familiarization tour (lol). We went to Robinsons and SM to get some stuff and fill in our stomachs at Aida’s in  Manokan Country. I didn’t let Jeeko miss the tasting of my favorite Cab gelato.

quick food @ diners’ hub… in fairness!!

We were staying at Xaver’s Apartment and since we don’t have time to cook, we often eat out and Diners’ Hub is our easiest food source. Jermaine arrive in Bacolod on our second day and this is when he also gave Mimay her graduation gift, an Iphone4S.

pichoor.. pichoor…

We would be attending both  baccalaureate and graduation rites of Mimay.

After resting, we went to Guimaras for our family celebration. Please check this blog for our Guimaras Adventure.

Before heading back to Manila, we dropped by Greeno’s Pizza for lunch.

Everytime that we are having our staff meeting, it would end up on an out of town experiences sharing. Our boss had been planning to take his wife for a vacation in Boracay for the longest time. I did not realize that it would come to my surprise that we are already booked for a vacation in May 2011. The initial plan is to have Boss Ion, Lala, Sean, Dj, Me and James to join the vacation. I made a call to Anna asking her if she wanted to join us. She said yes but just a week before our scheduled flight, James backed out.

since we were sooooo thirsty… we got what they reccomended..

The TP peeps are together in a Seair flight to Boracay while Anna is on a different flight. When we arrived in Boracay, it was raining hard. We were not able to enjoy the beach right away. Since Boss Ion and Lala are checking in on a different resort, I joined DJ and her hubby in Royal Park (Station 1). I reserved a room for one night since I would be transferring to Fairways the next day. We met with Lala and Boss Ion in D’Mall to grab some food. We would have stayed and ordered for paella but we are so hungry that we decided to transfer resto and fill out stomach with food.

We headed back to our hotels and rested for the night. I am not sure about their itinerary but I just stayed, rested and waited for Anna.

Station 1 – Boracay, Aklan

The following day,  Anna and I were up early. We started walking towards station 3 and enjoyed the view. We stopped in Deco’s Batchoy for a quick breakfast and started walking again. We are currently looking for a station 3 resort where she could spend her last 3 days in Boracay after I leave.

peaceful….

Just before we reached the end of the beach, DJ called and told me that they are waiting for us in Two Seasons. We hurried back and joined them. We had some shakes and pictures taken. Just before lunch, we have agreed on what our itinerary would be. After lunch, we would meet and have an ATV ride then I would take them to Fairways for a swim and we part ways for dinner.

get off… i’ll drive!

whatever is it that they are looking at…

Anna and I transferred hotel after our bonding time with the group in Two Seasons. We arrived in Fairways and Bluewater and waited for our room. Since they are still preparing the room (considering it’s already passed 2:00pm), we just stayed by the beach and enjoyed the infinity pool. We left our things in the common areas and headed out of the resort to join DJ and Boss Ion for an ATV ride. At first, I asked Anna to drive because I am not in the mood. After several minutes, i asked her to step aside and I would drive for us. I felt I needed to do it since the group is already out of the garage. Being me, we were able to cathc up with them. So we had several stops, mini zoo and sight seeing. From the ATV shoppe, we asked the shuttle to take us to fairways for swimming.

picture… hehehe

Anna and I stayed at Fairways overnight. After they left, we stayed for a couple of hours in the pool and had dinner. The following morning, we are up early and had a breakfast buffet, spent sometime on the beach and pool before checking out.

i was looking for the chair… where is it piolo??

We are scheduled for Island Hopping. So we met with DJ and the group at Royal Park. We headed off for snorkeling and lunch at Puka Beach.

Station 2 – Boracay, Aklan

after island hopping… lunch and some shopping….

After the activities scheduled for the day, Anna and I took our stuff to Alice in Wonderland Resort located at station 3. We rested for a while and started to walk. I am unable to enjoy my last night in Boracay though because of upset stomach but I still joined Anna for the night. I remember looking for lugaw!

Station 3 – Boracay, Aklan

So it’s my last day. We head off to the beach and had some crepes for breakfast. I had to leave before 10AM.

kaching!!! lol…

After walking… and walking… and walking… finally!

Let me go ahead and share my immersion for 2012. I called it immersion because, I needed some time off the city and enjoy my bum moment.

At last! I am work free… worry free…

So it is that time of the year. Tita Ela is here in the Philippines and we are up for her yearly Caridad. Our neighbors are ready with pitchers because we would come knocking on their doors with our gulaman with pinipig.

This year is quite different. We’ve all gotten bigger and we are no longer complete. We cannot have our pizza making contest and egg hunt but as expected, we have our itinerary prepared. Well, sort off. We know the places where we want to go but our schedule is still not defined. So we decided to have a roadtrip to the south with Mitzi. Kudos to Mitzi for keeping up with us.

From Antipolo, we went to Laguna and yes, we went through the Rizal route instead of SLEX. As usual, we stopped at Petron Famy for our quail eggs and yosi break. Since it’s near sundown, we decided to drop by Pagsanjan Market to get some food.

i had to cross the bamboo bridge!

So we reached our first stop, Majayjay. We had to walk for about 15 minutes to reach the farm. As expected, I am assigned to deal with the kitchen stuff. While everyone is busy taking pictures and walking around, I was busy cooking. We agreed to do it via the back to basics way. We had banana leaves for plate, coconut juice for drinks and guess what, I had to cook the old fashioned way too.

the walk.. the pictures… the pawis!

Before 7pm, we decided to leave the farm and head off to Liliw, Laguna. It was about 20 minutes drive from the farm and as expected, Lola Naty reserved rooms for us. The house we stayed in is the the ancestral house of the Zulaybars in Liliw, Laguna. It’s about 2 minutes walk from the cathedral and all the shops.

bonding tme @ liliw

The following morning we were up very early and all prepared for our rice field visit. We were informed that we need to walk but we are not aware that we would walk for 2 hours just to go around.

We enjoyed the view and fresh air. We didn’t realize that we were already walking for two hours. We were all perspiring and thirsty when we we reached the end of the field, then we saw the falls. If it weren’t to high, I think we would have jumped over.

2 hours walk… why not?

Let’s go to the rice field… errrr..

1st challenge, tumulay!

The highlight of the day, me falling over the PILAPIL. I never imagined myself climbing over and having 2 people pulling me up just to get back the pathway. We were all laughing on our way back.

moment captured… I fell…

We went back to Liliw to fetch Janers and the kids and head off to Nagcarlan. This time to visit Tita Dheng’s farm.

touring Laguna via 2- wheels… hahaha

Mamamia and I decided to wait for them in the car. I cannot handle another hour of walking and sight seeing. When they returned, I asked Mimay to get into Mitzi and I’d join papapicolino on the motorcycle ride. We went ahead and checked on the falls since we’ve agreed to go for a swim before heading back to Majayjay for dinner.

from the farm to the falls…

So we reached the falls. Learning that the water is deep (about 2 coconut trees high), we decided to head back to Liliw for lunch and check on resorts for a swim.  We stayed in the resort for about 3 hours before leaving for Majayjay. After I prepared dinner and buying Jack — the new horse in town. We headed back to Liliw for the night to rest.

The following morning we prepared early and visited the church and had some shopping. After snacks, we bid farewell to everyone as we are set to meet the Castanedas in Lucban, Quezon.

Kamay ni Hesus- Lucban, Quezon

Just before lunch, we are already walking towards the Garden of Eden. We’ve took a lot of photos and had our fair share of goofing around. We agreed that the climb is a challenge for everyone because we’ve gained so much weight and most of us are now smoking but we did it.

We relaxed by the Buko Shake stall, cleaned up and said our goodbyes.

The 3 days I spent with family in this trip is just in the halfway mark of my so called immersion. I started the summer with a trip to Palawan and we still have plans on going out of town by next month.

the group @ Ogtong Cave Entrance

Since the supports arrived in Cebu, we have been planning to go out of town and spend a weekend in Bantayan. Several dates had been confirmed but it was not until the final email was sent on their scheduled return to Manila and my resignation is finalized that we decided to push through with the trip.

We left Cebu City in two batches. The 1st batch left coming from La Guardia flats and the second batch left from Insular Building.

How did we get there:

  1. Riding a cab, we asked manong to take us to North Bound Bus Terminal. The terminal also caters passengers who opt to transport via shuttle or vans.
  2. We got in a bus going to Hagnaya.
  3. From Hagnaya Port, we traveled by boat to Sta. Fe Port, Bantayan Island.

Since batch is already in Bantayan, we are already aware that Sta. Fe Beach Club is offering free transfer from port to the resort via shuttle. We didn’t have to wait for the shuttle, it is already parked and waiting for passengers.

On our way to the resort, I was reacting and telling batch 2 that I am not sure if we are headed to the right resort. I told them that Sta. Fe Beach Club is no where near the port and it seems that we are headed to a resort just meters away from it.  We we taken to Sta. Fe Beach Club and yes, it is near the port and the resort that I was talking about is its sister resort that has a cave.

huts by the beach

This resort is way cheaper than the one I had in mind but good enough. We are allowed to use the facilities of the other resort too, for free. One more thing, we had a discount on rooms since batch 1 was able to meet the owners of the resort on their way to the island.

We rented two rooms for the night. Batch 1 went ahead and visited the market in the town proper for our food while batch 2, decided to rent a motorbike to get some snacks. So imagine Yosh driving the motorbike with Cherries as backride with 13 bowls of halo-halo, ice, drinks, puso, and roasted chicken. I guess, we didn’t plan to have it that way but since we are matatakaw, Yosh and Cherries did the right thing — talk about being proactive!

very relaxing place…

we thought we’d fit…

After settling and eating, we decided to visit the other resort. We have two options, wait for the shuttle or ride habal-habal. Cherries and I decided to ride with Yosh while the rest enjoyed the habal-habal ride. When we arrived in the resort, the owners greeted batch 1. We were introduce to them and to our surprise, the owners informed the staff the we are allowed to use the Honeymooner’s area and the newly renovated places in the resort. That is what we call – Ganda Card usage!

We went around the resort, goofing and taking pictures. We enjoyed the pool and the view.  Just before 7pm, we decided to back to the other resort and had dinner. We had a couple of bottles for the night and slept away.

si inday at si enteng.. lol

while waiting…

The following day, we were divided in two groups again. First is the island hopping group and the second group decided to just enjoy the beach and facilities the resort and  Ogtong Cave. Group 1 had they fair share of ocean moment, when Yosh fell into the sea while group 2 enjoyed our walk and pictorial.

Just in time for lunch, both groups are back in the resort. We had crabs and rice for lunch. Before we head off back to Cebu City, we gain took pictures and enjoyed coconut juice.

i’d be back soon…
