before we walk!!

There were a lot of things going on that week. A lot of plannings and a lot of places we wish to visit together. I would say we were successful in two of them, 1st  was the Bohol trip and 2nd was our Sky Adventure Experience.

From work, we ended up strolling Ayala Center Cebu to kill time. We decided to go home and rest for a while at La Guardia Flats, Lahug. We agreed to meet at the common area at around 5:30pm and leave for our Sky Adventure. We thought we won’t push through with the night out since it was raining hard up until 5:00pm, but as soon as the rain stopped, we asked the guard on duty to call a cab because we are not stomped by the rain.

Wacky pose??

I have been explaining to the taxi drive that we need to get to the Crown Regency that offers Skywalk and Edge Coaster ride but he kept on asking which Crown since there are a lot of crown Hotels in Cebu. I explained how this place is near the circle and alas! Manong knew where to go.

i look so nervous in this pic…

From the main entrance, we went directly to the other tower and got in an elevator until 19th FLoor. This is where we paid our tickets. From the 19th floor, another elevator ride is waiting to take you to the 37th floor for skywalk.

We took the package and made sure to have the buffet included as we are all starving by the time we finished our walk.

panikis enjoying the rain…

My friends were at Sumilang Court for an event that James organized. I followed before 10:00 pm for an exena. We had our ever favorite redhorse beer and some isaw. James and Mar had to drop by Odeng’s place for her farewell party and so we had to stay longer.

We were planning for an out of town when Mar arrived. He was in hurry to leave because he needs to be at Pateros before 3am for a Batangas trip. Next thing we know, we are checking on our watches and setting to meet up within 30 minutes at Ado’s Panciteria for the trip.

gaylord, mar, me and jome by the beach…

We joined Mar’s and Abog’s friends on the trip. I would say it was more of a high school type of out of town. Everyone is excited and was not sure of what to do but as per Mar’s command, just enjoy and do not do anything.

on our way to the cave…

The 3am call time, of course considering the cast, was moved to 5am. We left Pateros at around 5:15am  and reached Anilao at around 7:00am. We thought that the driver knows where to go. When he parked on the resort, I was hesitant to go down. He confirmed that we are staying in that resort and because of that, I went down and asked my friends to check on the resort and if there are other resorts we can check in. I have asked them to check on Aguila Resort, I know it is not an A++ resort but that would do compared to the public resort manong wanted us to be in. If it’s jsut me, Jome, Mar, Gaylord and Abog, we could have said yes to Aguila’s pricing but since we have other acquaintances , we had to reconsider.

shall we start? walk galore!

We ended driving through slopes and heading to Mabini, Batangas. They decided to just check in on the last resort they were in. Upon arrival, we were not able to check in right away since the place is reserved until after lunch. We stayed in Mac-Mac’s place, has lunch and played cards. At around 1:00pm, we were on our way to the resort and ready to enjoy the beach.

another challenge completed…

The resort is not the usual resort you’d find me staying but it offered me the adventure I am always up for. We had a feeling that sleeping will not be a part of our itinerary so we just rented 2 large cabanas. Me and the panikis were too busy playing poker while the rest of the group were busy swimming and drinking.

following them boyz…

it was so peaceful…

At around 5:00pm, we stood up the table and decided to swim for a while. I was reminded that we are not to swim on a sandy beach and be careful. After a couple of minutes, we decided to have a walk and head off to the cave.

It was a long walk but upon reasching the destination, whallla!

It was all worth it!

after a long walk, finally!

sunset where art thou?

the rock climb attempt…

We decided to go back before dusk. We continued playing cards and some continued drinking but most of them slept. Had we known that it is part of their itinerary, we could have gotten ourselves a room.

Jome and I headed back to Manila at 6:00am.

simple beach… good people…

guimaras strait….

After our last visit to Bacolod, we have decided that we will be visiting Guimaras Island after Mimay’s graduation.

We were up early. All of our things are prepared and everyone is excited. We made sure that we will be able to join the first trip from Bacolod to Iloilo. From Bacolod, it took us about an hour and forty five minutes to reach Iloilo. From the drop off point (super ferry), we took a cab to Ortiz port. We could have rented a tricycle or trike to but we chose to rent an avanza since it will be cheaper if calculated per head and it will be comfortable for us.

the multicab that we rented…

Jordan Wharf (Guimaras Island) is 15 minutes away from Ortiz Port. Boat fare is Php15.00 and wait time for boat departure is less than 10 minutes as many tourists and locals are continuously traveling back and forth.

discipline people… if it’s a NO then it should be taken as NO!

The wharf is currently under renovation but their strict rule of no mango / seedling to enter the island is still implemented.

a lot of mangoes taken home…

Public transportations are available for tourists, jeepneys,  multicabs  and tricycles are all parked ans ready by the wharf. Since we are a group, we decided to rent a multicab going to Raymen Beach Resort for Php450.00. Again, it is cheaper if we compute the fare per head and we would be comfortable as well.  Tricycle rent is about the same price and with all the stuff we have, renting is our choice of transpo. From the wharf, the resort is about 45 minutes drive (with no traffic).

hahahaha… look at jeeko!

On our way to the resort, we stopped by the public market for our food. Since we are staying overnight, we wanted to make sure we have quick munchies avaibale. We also decided to get our pasalubongs as early as day 1 because we need to catch and early trip the following morning.  We were also looking for mango catsup and shrimp paste.

what we had for lunch… we forgot to take pics of the others…

my favorite….

Since we arrived early, we first stayed in a cabana prior to transferring our stuff inside our room. I had to cook for lunch and since Mimay is on fasting we ordered sinigang in Raymen’s Resto.  The resort also offers Guimaras land trip and Island hoping.

yes i am ready to swim!

pump boats by the sea.. waiting for passengers?

cliff diving attempt fail…

It was more of a Jeeko’s celebration. I had to take Jeeko’s and Jermaine’s picture while everyone else is resting by the cabana. We really enjoyed the sand and water. Mamamia and Papapicolino joined us after resting too.

i had to take this… no matter what!

bonding time…

bench body?

There were some food left from lunch and I have cooked liempo by 5pm. We thought of ordering rice instead of cooking it for dinner. We have also placed our orders for breakfast since we are leaving the place early to catch our 9am trip from Iloilo back to Bacolod.

look into our eyes…

say what now?!

We also asked for manong’s number to confirm our pickup by 6am.

island hopping

jumpshot– one of the islands…

Everytime I am up for a rest, I always receive FB alerts on a possible weekend getaway and my visits to Puerto Galera are not exempted.

We always opt to leave early in the morning for a Galera trip. We would meet in JAM liner (just beside GMA network) and ride the 5:00AM trip. From Kamuning, it may take 2 hours to get to Batangas Port and to get to Mindoro (White Beach, Puerto Galera), it may take an hour or two depending on the size/ type of boat you (luckily) got a ticket for.

usual boat off to puerto galera…

walking is fun!

Puerto Galera is one of the many choices for quick getaways and team buildings. Instead of spending a lot of money for a Boracay flight, Puerto Galera is  usually the pick of many. It offers great night life, superb activities and cheaper accommodations.

rice all you can!

Accommodations range from tents to fist class hotel rooms. If you are a thrift backpacker, you may choose the tent style accommodation or rent a room for an overnight stay. Families also spend time in Puerto Galera renting transient houses.

As for activities, enjoy snorkeling, diving,  cave visit, island hopping, banana boat riding, tattoo, trekking,   etc. (same activities Boracay offers).

band playing, people dancing, more – more drinking!

A  Puerto Galera night out  will never be complete without trying their famous Mindoro Sling.
