The Ruins

The mansion was built in the 1900’s by a sugar baron named Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson.

His wife, Maria Braga who is a Portuguese from Macau stayed in this mansion with Don Mariano and their children. The mansion became popular during the 1900’s being  the first largest A- grade infrastructure built during that time. During WWII, the mansion was burnt by guerilla fighters to prevent the Japanese battalion in using the mansion for headquarters.

To date, the Lacson’s Mansion, better known as Ruins still sits mightily as it is being maintained as one of the tourist spots in Negros.

Ruins is accessible from both Talisay City and Bata, Bacolod City. It is open to the public from 8:30am to 8:00pm.
